Evelyn (Eve) Stephenson, passed away on Saturday, March 15, 2003, after a short illness. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, March 19, 2003 at the Episcopal Church of the Holy Trinity in Midland with Father Mark Cannady, rector officiating. Interment will follow at 12:30 pm at Rankin Cemetery in Rankin, Texas. A visitation will be held and the family will receive friends Tuesday, March 18, 2003 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.Eve was born on March 4, 1933, in Kennington, South London, England to Leonard and Jessica Powell and spent her childhood in the London district of Wimbledon. In a visit to Germany in the early sixties she met Carl Stephenson of Rankin, Texas and married him in Reno, Nevada on November 10, 1961.In 1961 with her husband she moved to Odessa and came to Midland in 1972. She became office manager and co-founder of Stephenson Realty, Inc. of Midland and Odessa, Texas as well as being a loving wife and mother. She was a member of Episcopal Church of the Holy Trinity.Survivors include her husband; Carl Stephenson of Midland, one daughter & son-in-law; Julie and Stephen Frank of New Orleans, Louisiana, and one brother; Roger Powell of Portsmouth, England.
