Etta Louise Baker Whitaker, 79, of Hamilton, formerly of Big Spring, passed away January 9, 2022 in Hamilton, Texas. Memorial service will be at 11:00 am Thursday, January 13, 2022 at Spring Creek Fellowship.

Louise was born March 30, 1942 in Hamilton, Texas to James William Baker and Lela Mae Atchley Baker. She was a graduate of BSHS in 1960 and then from Howard College LVN program in 1961. She was a retired ER nurse of many years.

Survivors include her son, Joe Whitaker and Cheryl of Goldwaithe, Texas; daughters, Stacey Childers and Jeff, and Lori Massingill both of Big Spring, Texas; brother, Steve Baker and Pam; 2 grandsons; 7 granddaughters; 7 great granddaughters with one on the way; 3 great grandsons; many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Doyal Wayne Baker and Donnie Ralph Baker; son-in-law, Jim Massingill; and ex-husband, Dan Whitaker – the love of her life.

I am so sorry for y’all’s loss. Louise was an amazing lady. My late husband Ronald Dunlap was seen in the emergency room every thirty days and he absolutely loved Louise. She would call him Ronald McDonald! They would always hug when we were ready to leave. After her retirement we would see her out and they always exchanged hugs. Please accept my deepest condolences and know that she was loved by many!
