Erma Dean Baker, 95, of Big Spring, passed away Monday, April 27, 2026.
She will lie in state from 9:00 am until 9:00 pm, Thursday, April 30, 2026 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, May 1, 2026 at Trinity Memorial Park.
Dean was born December 11, 1930 in Hamlin, Texas to parents Joseph Ingram Moore and Vivian Sylvester (McIntosh) Moore. She was a great cook, hairdresser and bookkeeper.
Dean met Bill while he was delivering her mail. Later they were married by the postmaster at the post office. She was teased about being “a mail ordered bride” and she loved it.
She is survived by her stepdaughter Pamila Duncan (Tommy); grandchildren: Jody, Kristal, Joeann, Jacy, Emileh, Miranda, Nicholas along with numerous great grandchildren and her nieces Gaynell Carter and Melanie Fortenbery.
In addition to her parents and her husband, William “Bill” Terrell Baker, she was preceded in death by her sons: John Meads, Joseph Moore, Daryl Baker and Mike Baker; her brothers: Freddy Moore, James Moore and one sister Flute Lloyd.
