Emmett "E. W." Nail, 88, of Big Spring, died on Saturday, August 6, 2005, at his residence. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, August 9, 2005 at Peace Chapel at Trinity Memorial Park with Rev. Monroe Teeters, pastor of Salem Baptist Church, and Rev. Dwayne Wheat , pastor of Berea Baptist Church, officiating.He was born on December 5, 1916, in Choctaw County, Mississippi and married Bernice Knight on May 11, 1946 in Walthall, Mississippi.E. W. came to Big Spring in 1949 from Stewart, Mississippi. He had worked for McMahon Concrete for 28 years, retiring in 1981. He enjoyed fishing, quail hunting and raising tomatoes. He was a member of Berea Baptist Church.He served as a Seabee in the United States Navy during World War II.Survivors include his wife, Bernice Nail of Big Spring; one son & daughter-in-law, Wayne and Katherine Nail of Sugarland; one daughter & son-in-law, Joyce and Steve Coleman of Alice; four grandchildren, Ronnie Nail and wife, Aimee, John Nail and wife, Leah, Chad Coleman and fiance, Stacia Loftin, and Kara Freeman and husband, Chad; two great grandchildren, Ross Freeman and Ty Freeman. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother. The family will receive friends from 6 PM to 7:30 PM Monday at the funeral home.Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring.
