Emma Spivey Wells, 84, of Big Spring, died on Monday, February 25, 2008, in a local nursing home. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, February 28, 2008 at the Peace Chapel at Trinity Memorial Park with Rev. Bruce Wells, officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.She was born on April 1, 1923, in Knott, Texas and married Roy M. Spivey on September 22, 1945 and he preceded her in death on August 2, 1977. She then married Samuel Wells on June 29, 1990.A lifetime resident of Howard County, Emma was a homemaker and worked for many years as a Mary Kay consultant. She loved to travel, especially in the RV, and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of First Baptist Church and was very active in her church.Survivors include her husband, Sam Wells of Big Spring; one daughter, Judy Garner and husband, Richard of Abilene; two sons, Roy Lee Spivey and Tim Spivey both of Big Spring; two step children, Bruce Wells and wife, Patsy of Kilgore and Joetta Beck and husband, Bill of Big Spring; one sister, Edna Merle Grozier of Round Rock; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Kent and husband, Jody of Abilene, Chris Spivey and wife, Jana of Big Spring, Mike Spivey and wife, Lyndi of Big Spring, Amy Smith and husband, Hubble of Abilene, Kristy Bridges and husband, Phillip of Merkel, Dana Spivey and Sammy Spivey both of Big Spring; nine great grandchildren; four step grandchildren, Dana Jo Allen and husband, John, Chad Newsom, R. J. Sloan and Kristi Sloan; six step great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.She was also preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Billy Gaskins, and a daughter-in-law, Debbie Spivey.Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring.
