Emily Augusta (Marshall) Wasson left this life on May 14, 2004. Funeral services will be held Monday, May 17, 2004, at 10:00 AM, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel, with Doyle Maynard, Larry Marshall, Bryan Maynard and Don Lightfoot presiding. The family will receive friends Sunday, from 7:00 PM – 8:00 PM, at the funeral home. She was born to W.B. and Ida (Kidd) Marshall on April 15, 1914, near Lovington, New Mexico. She attended school in Lamesa. After graduation she went to Lubbock Beauty School. She married Charlie H. Wasson on June 25, 1934. They were married over 60 years before his death on November 26, 1994. Three daughters were born to this union, Charlene Swaim, LaVelle Maynard and Jo Beth Lightfoot. She was a member of the Church of Christ and was a devoted and faithful Christian all her life. Next to her Lord she loved her family. She was proud of her daughters and sons-in-law. She delighted in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and spoiled them all. She also loved her home and garden. She read her Bible daily. She was a beautician for over 50 years. She and her sister owned The Beauty Center on 11th Place for 30 years. She finished her career at Kut and Kurl. Emily was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one daughter, Jo Beth Lightfoot, and one brother, Shorty Marshall. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Charlene and Robert Swaim, of Stillwater, Oklahoma, LaVelle and Doyle Maynard, of Big Spring, and Don Lightfoot, of Navasota; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; one sister, Beth Buckner, of Dallas and one brother B.L. Marshall, of Bovina. Pallbearers will be grandsons and great-grandsons. Arrangements under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Big Spring.
