Elva Jualine Forbes Thompson, 85, of Midland passed away Thursday, October 3, 2013.Elva was born in Goldthwaite, Texas to Luther and Vera Forbes on December 21, 1927. On April 4, 1947, Elva married the love of her life, Leon Thompson, in Saginaw, Texas. She spent her years as a homemaker and beloved wife and mother of three. Elva was an amazing cook and spent her spare time playing, and usually winning, games of bridge with various groups. She is lovingly remembered by her family as a skilled seamstress, especially by her daughter for her skills making her prom dresses. One of her favorite things to do was travel and cheer for all of her grandkids in their various sports. She and her husband, Leon, traveled all over the world in their 67 years of marriage.Elva is survived by her husband, Leon; sister, Marie Woods, of Clemson, South Carolina; son, Danny Thompson and wife, Renee, of Dallas, Texas; son, James Alan Thompson and wife, Kim, of Keller, Texas; daughter, Pat Eimers and husband, Dennis, of Midland, Texas; 12 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.She is preceded in death by her parents.The couple would like to give special thanks to their friends of the First Baptist Church James Department Sunday School Class and all the staff of Manor Park.The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Manor Park.,
