Elsie May Billings, 79, of Big Spring, died on Sunday, March 30, 2003, in a local hospital. Graveside funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday, April 1, 2003, at Trinity Memorial Park with Dr. Bill Welsh, minister of Belvue Church of Christ in Stanton and Rev. Derrick Looney, pastor of First Baptist Church in Ackerly, officiating. She was born on May 7, 1923 in London, England and married Grant Billings on October 1, 1945 in Brocking, Braintree, Essex, England. He preceded her in death on November 18, 1982. Mrs. Billings came to Big Spring in 1945 from London, England. Her main purpose in life was being a loving wife, mother and nannie. Her interests included reading, crocheting, bowling and her English hot tea. She was a member of the Methodist Church. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Pat and Lonnie Taylor of Ackerly; one son, Roy Billings of Big Spring; two granddaughters, Laurie Reed and her husband, Lance, of Canyon, and Melissa Romine of Stephenville; two grandsons, Michael Billings of El Paso and Tommy Billings of Texas; one step grandson; Doyce Taylor of Vealmoor; one step granddaughter, Shanna Gibson of San Antonio; one great granddaughter, Jaylen Reed and four step great grandchildren, Chance Taylor, Rowdy Clarey, Kyle Gibson and Sidney Gibson.
