Eloise Sue Christon, 82, of Stanton, passed away on Sunday, December 27, 2020 in Andrews, TX. The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 2, 2021 from 12:00PM-1:00PM at the First Baptist Fellowship Hall in Stanton, TX. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at 1:30PM at First Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery in Midland.
Sue was born on October 14, 1938 to Leon & Edna Neeley in Crane, TX. Following her marriage to John Thomas (Tommy) Christon on June 9, 1957, they moved from Crane to Colorado City, TX and started their family of four children, Sue was always heavily involved in their church, the many activities that came with four children, and still found time to follow her passion for floral design.
In 1971, the family moved to Stanton, TX. Sue chased her children, and their sports, band and academic activities all over West Texas. She continued her love for God’s word, primarily the study of Revelations, attending various prophecy conferences through the years. She enjoyed sharing this knowledge with family and members of her Sunday School class. Sue also continued her love for floral design, becoming the premier wedding designer for the Permian Basin. She would all but work for nothing, just to see her “little brides” and their families overwhelming happy…..that being her only heart’s goal.
When Sue retired from her floral design business in 2008, she was well underway in chasing the activities of her 12 grandchildren, who they call their MawMaw. Her family was always the center of her life, and she shared her traits of unselfishness, kindness, and love for God throughout her entire life. As the saying goes….she didn’t have a mean or selfish bone in her body.
She is survived by her children and their families. Connie & Bill Pardue, children Colton, Lynsey, Britton & Peykos Pardue and Ruston, Audrey, Breilyn & Corbin Pardue; Vickie & Coby McMorries, children Bailie Greenhaw, Tripp, Lakoda & Neeley Wells and Garrett & Lauren Greenhaw; Christie & Jay Madison, children Haley, Joseph, Jaycee, Bear & Augustus Rivas, Jamie, Chris, Ava & Ace Carson, Kenzie, Yasser, Kolt, Kyah & Ryan Rios; Johnny Christon & Janie Peacock, his children Sharla Kay Christon, Krystal & Curtis Hunsinger, children Scarlett, Sloane, Saige House & Kade Hunsinger, Jobe & Heather Christon, children Jayden, Johanna & Julianna Christon; Jovahn Christon; Joshua & Amanda Christon.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Alvin Leon Neeley and Edna Mansell Neeley; her brother Gene Leon Neeley; her husband J.T. (Tommy) Christon, and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.
