On September 8, 2013, surrounded by family and loved ones, Elizabeth Kay Stephen’s earthly body was quietly taken and her loving spirit was greeted with open arms from Jesus. She was born Elizabeth Kay McGill on July 24, 1956 to James L. McGill and June Marie McGill in Hobbs, New Mexico. Elizabeth was 57.She was a free spirited, loving wife, daughter, sister, mother and friend. Elizabeth graduated from Monahans High School in 1974 as a mighty Lobo. She attended classes at Odessa College. Her true pride was in her family. She always had a heart for those whom others may have looked the other way from. Her love for animals showed in the many that she owned and loved over all her years. Her love for old rock and roll music and the 70’s era will always bring a reminder and smile to her loved ones faces. Never will we hear Janis Joplin again and not be instantly reminded of Elizabeth.She is survived by her loving husband, Ray Stephens, of Midland. Elizabeth met Ray at a time in her life that was meant to be. He was a very caring, loving, compassionate husband to Elizabeth. Moreover, Ray could make Elizabeth laugh and be herself.She is also survived by the following: Her father J. L. McGill, Midland, TX, brother, Jim McGill and wife, Debbie, Odessa, TX, sister, Karen Hood and husband, Nick, Midland, TX. The crown jewels of her life include daughter, Candice Lopez, Moore, OK, daughters, Tiffany Tuck & Chelsea Therwhanger, sons, Brannon Therwhanger, Terry Repman, Caleb Repman & Ethan Repman, all of Midland, TX. The love in her extended family include daughter, Terra Roberts, Midland, TX, son, Eric Muncy, San Angelo, TX and son, Jason Repman. Her family also included her beautiful grandchildren, Kenzie Carr, Garrett McKenzie, Madison Miller, Luke Tuck and Julianna Therwhanger and numerous nieces and nephews She is preceded in death by her mother, June Marie McGill.A memorial service will be held on Thursday, September 12, 2013 p.m. at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Chapel in Midland, TexasIn lieu of flowers the family request that memorials be directed to the Methodist Children’s Home, 1111 Herring Avenue Waco,Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland.
