Elizabeth Pierce, 93, of Stanton, went to be with Jesus, surrounded by her family, on Saturday, July 12, 2008, in Legend Health Care Center in Midland. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at the First Baptist Church in Stanton with Rev. Bill Shockley, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park in Big Spring.The family will receive friends from 6 PM to 8 PM Monday at the funeral home.She was born on August 16, 1914, in Howard County, Texas and married Troy Pierce on February 12, 1931 in Lovington, New Mexico. He preceded her in death on November 11, 1987.Mrs. Pierce moved to Tarzan in 1951 and for the last several years had lived in Stanton. For a number of years, she worked as a bookkeeper during the fall at several gins.She had been a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Tarzan and was currently a member at First Baptist Church in Stanton. She was also a member of the Triple LLL Club and the ladies Sunday School Class, was active with the Martin County Senior Citizens Center and the Red Hat Club.Survivors include three sons, Charles Pierce and wife, LaRue of Stanton, Billy Pierce and wife, Alta of Weatherford and Edward Pierce and wife, Mary Jane of Paris; three daughters, Alene Pierce of Lower Lake, California, Margaret Stovall and husband, Phil of Clewiston, Florida and LouWanda Faubion and husband, Dan of Midland; 15 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and 13 great great grandchild. She was also preceded in death by one granddaughter, Stella Pierce; five sisters and one brother. The family suggests memorials to the Martin County Senior Citizens Center Butlding Fund, P. O.
