Elizabeth Ann (Beth) McHaney Priddy died peacefully in her home on February 7, 2015. She was born May 15, 1923 in Longview, Texas to Elizabeth and Will Eanes McHaney. Beth was the eldest of three sisters, Mildred Johnston of Longview, and May Evelyn Johnson. She graduated from Longview High School in 1942 and attended Christian College in Columbia, Missouri and later TCU. She married Richard Henderson in 1943 and they had two children, Susan Askins of Midland, and Richard (Rick) Eanes Henderson. Beth moved to Midland in the summer of 1956 where she was a member of Memorial Christian Church and she was a member of DAR. In May 1968, she married Charles Priddy. She served on the board of the Cerebral Palsy Center, the YMCA of Midland and as a “Pink Lady” at Midland Memorial Hospital. She was a Deacon at Memorial Christian Church and later joined First Presbyterian, where she has since been a member. Charles and Beth loved to travel and over the years they divided their time between Midland and their second home on the Taylor River in Colorado. Beth is preceded in death by her sister, May Evelyn Johnson, and her son, Rick Henderson. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Charles Priddy; daughter, Susan Askins; sister, Mildred Johnston of Longview; and grandchildren: Kendall Smith and her husband Rusty of Midland, Mason Askins of Midland, Cooper Askins and his wife Stephanie of Austin, and great-grandchildren: Presley Miller, Elizabeth Ann and Collins Smith, Elliot and Forrest Askins; three step-children: Barbara Clark and her husband John of Dallas, Walter Priddy and his wife Kim of Dallas, and Charles Priddy Jr.; and step-grandchildren Amanda Eagle George, Katharine Priddy McAden, Whitney Priddy Icenhauer, Kristen Priddy and Joslyn Priddy. The family would like to especially thank many special care-givers including Leticia Perales and her family, Ada Heller, and Hospice of Midland. Services will be held at First Presbyterian Church on Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to your favorite charity.
