Elicela Acosta Marquez

With great sadness, we announce the passing of our dearest mother, Elicela (Lisa) Marquez, on Saturday, December 16, 2023. Lisa enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and loved her family fiercely. She was a crafter and maker of everything and loved to showcase her home with her creations.

Lisa was born on May 7, 1950, in Marathon, Texas. She was a great mother, grandma (Mom), sister, aunt and friend. She was preceded in death by her parents, Pedro A and Leandra A Marquez, and siblings Belia Marquez Reyes, Cenaida A Marquez, and Arturo A Marquez, grandchildren Katherine Denise “Kiki” Marquez, David Allen Calvillo, unborn baby (Jayden & Nate).

Lisa leaves her beloved children behind: Rosemma (Berry) Marquez, Melissa Ann Benson of Hobbs, New Mexico, JoAnn Romero (Chris) of Los Lunas, New Mexico, Michael Ysidro (Natasha) Sanchez of Hobbs New Mexico, and Matthew Paul (Amanda) Sanchez from Midland, Texas.

Grandchildren: Eric Ray Perez, Jeremy (Kristen) Cervantes, Marcus (Samantha) Cervantes, Jayden (Nate) Sanchez, Matthew Paul (Junie) Sanchez Jr, Elijah Sanchez, Breauna Lara, Brayden Sanchez, Nathan Sanchez, Darien Sanchez, Michael “Mikey” Pope, Donovan (Marisa) Pope, Aliyah Romero, and Abram Romero.

Great Grandchildren: David Allen Calvillo Jr, Aniyah Cervantes, Zoey Cervantes, Natalie Cervantes, and Isaac Cervantes.

Siblings: Renato A Marquez of San Antonio, Texas; Daniel (Maria) Marquez of Midland, Texas; Nicky (Cindy) Marquez of San Antonio, Texas and Tila Marquez of Midland, Texas
