Eleanor Marie Nielsen, 99, of Midland, passed away Saturday, September 12, 2026. Eleanor was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on October 22, 1926 to Anna and John Palko. Survivors include her children Patricia Nielsen of New Albany OH, her son Donn and wife Louise Nielsen of Bosque Farms, NM, and son David and wife Shirley Nielsen of Midland TX, grandchildren Robert and wife Elena Purcell of Columbus OH, and Kelsey Nielsen of Albuquerque NM, and great granddaughter Liana Purcell of Columbus OH. Eleanor is preceded in death by her husband Robert Earl Nielsen. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Eleanor’s longtime friend and caregiver Eva Chacon of Midland, and the entire staff at Hospice of Midland, particularly her hospice nurse Kayla Thrasher and aide Jaclyn Sims. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to Hospice of Midland, PO Box 2621, Midland TX 79702.
