Eleanor Collier MaxeyOur Beloved Nano went to be with her Heavenly Father Friday, February 8, 2013. Eleanor Jane Collier was born in Atoka, Oklahoma on January 16th, 1935 to Mr. Claud Collier, Sr. and wife, Carrie Simmons Collier. Eleanor is preceded in death by her parents, four brothers: Buster Collier, Claud Collier Jr., Bobby Collier, and Jim Collier.Survivors include her daughter, Marcia Jane Pack of Midland; daughter, Melissa Jo Ruckman and husband, David of Gardendale; son, George Wendell Maxey, Jr. and wife, Marilyn of Midland; grandchildren: Brian A. Pack Jr. of Cypress, TX; Hilary Rae Pack of Katy, TX; Jordan Lee Ruckman and wife, Karinne Marie of Midland; and Kelsi Maree Ruckman of Midland; one sister, Evelyn Jean Hampton of Los Lunas, New Mexico. Eleanor grew up in Atoka, Oklahoma, attended Atoka High School and then went on to Norman, Oklahoma as soon as she could to become an avid OU Sooner fan. She married Daniel L. Mann on June 22, 1956 and then gave birth to Marcia Jane Mann on April 1, 1957. Eleanor graduated with a Bachelors degree from OU in 1957.On August 7, 1965, she married George Wendell Maxey, Sr. and gave birth to Melissa Jo Maxey on October 26th, 1968 and then George Wendell Maxey, Jr. on January 24, 1970.She had many passions in her life, chiefly helping protect and educate children. Eleanor was a Social Worker for the County of Atoka for several years, worked in the Continuing Education Department at Midland College for over 15 years and ended her career with the MISD serving as a Special Education teacher for over 15 years in Midland, Texas.Memorial services will be on Thursday, February 14, 2013 at 3:00 PM at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Chapel. Honorary Pallbearers will be Brian Pack Jr., Hilary Pack, Jordan Ruckman, Kelsi Ruckman, James Collier and Jana Collier Lindsey. The family suggests that memorials be made to M.A.R.C. at 2701 N.
