Edythe Merle Kelly, 81, of Stanton, died on Tuesday, December 18, 2001 in a Stanton nursing home. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Friday, December 21, 2001 at Downtown Church of Christ with Ellmore Johnson retired Church of Christ minister, officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. She was born on June 5, 1920 in Coahoma, Texas and married Ohmer Kelly on November 26, 1946 in Coahoma, Texas. He preceded her in death on January 25, 1981 after forty-six years of marriage. Edythe had lived in Martin County since 1946 and was a graduate of Big Spring High School. She volunteered at the Stanton Care Center and the Martin County Historical Museum for many years. She was a member of Downtown Church of Christ and was also a member of the Home Demonstration Club and the Martin County Old Settlers. Survivors include a sister Evelyn Clark of Big Spring; eight nieces and their husbands, Kaye and Glen Holley of Big Spring, Sherrian and Kenneth Crittendon of Tuscola, Susan and David Crawford of Corpus Christi, Sylvia and Jim Mooney of Pearland, Trish and Josh Klassen of Iraan, Bonnie and Marty Robinson of Corpus Christi, Carolyn and Bill Stone of Stanton, and Patsy Odom also of Stanton; two nephews and their wives, Paul and Gayle Clark of Salt Lake City, Utah and Bruce and Melissa Zilbert of San Antonio; numerous other nieces and nephews; eighteen great nieces and nephews; and seven great great nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Pat and Effie Wilson and a sister, Barbara Zilbert. The family suggests memorials be made to American Cancer Society, 2304 W.
