Edward Reeves Moren, 85, of Big Spring, died Monday, February 25, 2013, in a local hospital. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, March 2, 2013 at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Bill Ivins, officiating.Reeves was born November 18, 1927, in Breckenridge, Texas and married Elizabeth Smith September 19, 1954 in Texarkana, Arkansas.He was a member of First United Methodist Church and a member of the Epworth Sunday School Class. He attended Texas Tech University in Lubbock, graduating with a Chemical Engineering degree and played football for Tech. He served his country in the United States Air Force, earning the rank of Tech Sergeant. After his military service, he returned to Big Spring to help his father with his Western Auto Store. He spent the next 40 years working and owning that store. Reeves was a member of the Gideons International Big Spring Camp, and volunteered for the VA Hospital and most recently the Isaiah 53 Food Bank. He loved playing tennis, raquetball and handball at the local YMCA.Survivors include his wife, Beth Moren of Big Spring; two sons, William E. Moren and Richard Reeves Moren and wife, Susan all of Big Spring; two grandsons, Nathan Menges and wife, Valenda and Nick Hinklin; one granddaughter, Cindi Herrera; five great grandchildren, Jimmy Juarez, David Juarez, Amy Juarez, Alicia Herrera, and Felipe Shober; one brother, Bill Moren and wife, Mary of Andrews; and one sister, Anna V. Hart and husband, Ira Joe of Lakeside. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Edward and Eula Kate (Norton) Moren.
