Edward Howard Black III, 63 of Midland, passed away on Thursday, June 12, 2025.
Edward was born on June 28, 1961 at the Nix Hospital in San Antonio, Texas. He attended both Natalia and Devine Texas school districts graduating from Devine High School. Edward loved working with plants and studied Horticulture at Midland College and Texas Tech earning a Bachelor of Science degree from both schools. One of his outstanding projects was to help a Texas Tech professor earn his PhD. Edward spent a year doing research for his professor in entomology by putting together a huge collection of bugs in West Texas. He was a member of the Gem and Mineral Club in Midland, where he designed many stones for jewelry. He was a member of Life Fellowship Church in Midland and enjoyed attending Home Line Baptist Church in Midland.
Edward is survived by his father Edward Howard Black II; his sister, Debbie J. Hooker of Midland; brother, Lawrence Doug Black of Amarillo.
