Edward Mr. Ed Carrell, 77, of Midland passed away at his residence on Tuesday, February 19, 2013. The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Friday, February 22, 2013 at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 pm, Saturday, February 23, 2013 at First Assembly of God Church with Pastor Mike Hanks officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Mr. Ed was born in Mt. Vernon, Texas on June 17, 1935 to Chesley Willis Carrell and Meta Pike Carrell. After graduation he met and married the love of his life Pansy Rinehart. He was inducted into the US Army on June 25, 1958 at Fort Carson, Colorado and served his country honorably until his discharge on May 31, 1964. He worked for the United States Postal Service for twenty-nine years. Mr. Ed was a long time volunteer with Midland Junior Baseball, YMCA Youth Football. Mr. Ed and wife Pansy were State PTA Life Members; long time Midland Lee sports and band supporters; and a member of First Assembly of God where he served as an usher and board member. Survivors include two sons, Paul Carrell and wife Ruth of Beaumont and Scott Carrell and wife Stephanie of Brighton, CO; grandchildren, Andrew, Lynda, Craig, Brandon, and Bailey; daughters-in-law, Dawn and Penny; brothers, Roy Orren Carrell, Dub Carrell; sister, Patsy Jo Greene; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, two brothers and a sister. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be donated to American Cancer Society, 2304 W Wadley Ave Midland, TX 79705 or American Diabetes Association 3001 N Big Spring St Suite 104, Midland, TX 79705.
