Edward Arnold Booker, 53, of Midland, departed from this side of life, Thursday, February 5, 2004. He was at home and surrounded by his loving family and friends. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, February 7, 2004 at the North A Street Church of Christ in Midland with Greg Fleming officiating. Edward was born on January 2, 1951, in Midland, TX to Mary Frances (Allen) and Earl Booker.He attended schools in Midland and earned an Associate of Arts Degree from Western Texas College. He later received a Bachelor of Science from the University of Houston graduating Cum Laude. Edward was in the process of obtaining the necessary hours for his License in Chemical and Drug Abuse Counseling (LCDC). He was employed with the Texas Railroad Commission.Edward was a very giving person and very generous with his time. Some of his favorite hobbies were photography and auto mechanics. He was a certified Ombudsman volunteer for the Permian Basin Area Agency on Aging. Edward taught computer classes at the Ideal Family Center and enjoyed sharing his computer skills. He united with Lee Street Church of Christ at an early age. He then served his country in the U.S. Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1974. Upon returning to Midland in 1997, Edward placed membership with the North A Street Church of Christ where he served faithfully until his departing.Edward dearly loved his family and leaves to mourn his passing, his faithful mother, Mary F. Booker of Midland, two children, Robert Lathan of Lubbock and LaVinya Coleman of Dallas, one granddaughter, Terranee Johnson, two sisters, Patricia Holt and husband H.R., and Sandra Brumbaugh and husband Jerry, one brother, Brian Booker, an aunt Naomi Allen that remained by his side during the final days of his illness, three nieces, CaSaundra Holt, Belisa Buchanan and husband Ray, and Maya Walter and three nephews, Adam Walter, Daniel Walter, and Jason Guerrero. He also leaves behind a host of loving uncles, cousins, and a list of special friends too numerous to mention.Edward was preceded in death by his father, Earl D. Booker, and brother Earl D. Booker, Jr. Edward's family suggests memorials to Home Hospice, 901 W. Missouri, Midland, TX 79701..,
