Edna White, age 92, entered eternal rest on Monday, August 17th, 2026 at Carillon House in Lubbock, Texas. The family will have a gathering from 5pm to 7pm Sunday, August 23rd at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. Celebration of Life Service will be held at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel, Monday, August 24th at 10am. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park.
Edna was the youngest of three children born to Bessie Bea Sparks Parker and Raymond Parker in Seminole, Texas on July 31, 1934. Her childhood was shaped by her older siblings Johnny Joe Parker (1929-2003) and Annie Ruth Carter (1932-1988). She graduated as class Salutatorian from Seminole High School at the age of 16 and joined her sister at Texas Tech. After graduation from Texas Tech, she began her bookkeeping career at an oil company in Midland, Texas. Her father soon convinced Edna to return to Seminole to be the bookkeeper for his International Harvester Dealership. When a snowstorm stranded a young International Harvester representative Binie Lee White in Seminole, he was invited to stay at their house. He turned out to be the love of her life. They were married and set up their first household in Stanton. Soon the couple would both be employed by Lyntegar Electric in Tahoka.
Edna became a devoted full-time mom when her son Brad was born, followed by daughter Denise two years later. Edna volunteered her time and talents to whatever role needed to be filled… whether a concessioner at a sporting event, Brownie chaperone, driver to Little Dribbler’s tournaments, or many roles in the Methodist Church. She was honored for 60 years of service in the Federated Women’s Club holding many offices at the local, district and state level. After watching Brad play football at Tech in the 1980’s, she and Binie continued to be season ticket holders and enjoyed many seasons of Tech Football.
The family made many weekend work trips to a ranch in Northeast Howard County that had been in Binie’s family since 1903. The couple moved to the ranch full time when Binie retired from office work and became a full-time rancher. Edna continued her bookkeeping of the family businesses. She became proficient at keeping rattlesnakes, woodpeckers, and other unwanted creatures out of her yard using a shotgun, shovel or whatever was handy. She enjoyed watching baby calves, quail and cottontail rabbits in her yard.
Edna is survived by her son, Brad White and wife Gigi, daughter Denise Goodwyn, grandsons Seth Goodwyn and wife Caitlin, Parker White, Jayson Goodwyn and girlfriend Caroline Beltz, Truett White and girlfriend Abby Horn, and one great granddaughter, Hadley Goodwyn. Edna was blessed and loved by nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous extended family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Binie and son-in-law Craig Goodwyn.
Her example of hard work, integrity, devoted love to her family, and quiet strength will live on in all who were blessed to know her.
