Edna Mae Waddell, age 71, was welcomed into heaven by her Lord & Savior on June 1st, 2013. She was born February 23rd, 1942 in Duncan, Oklahoma to C.W. and Verla Mae McBride. A longtime Midland resident, Edna married her high school sweetheart, Gene Waddell, in March 1958. Gene and Edna truly lived their vows, loving each other unconditionally through 55 years of marriage. Gene referred to her as his sweet thing and he joked about Ednas tendency to move at a little slower pace and typically showing up a little late to just about everything and would say Edna! Youll be late to your own funeral! to which she would simply reply Gene! She was a very quiet person and would establish her career as the CEO of the Waddell household, focusing on raising her children: Cheryl, Clint and Carol, and making sure they were happy and healthy she wanted nothing more than to watch them grow up and celebrate their lives with them. Her life was further enriched with the births of her greatest delights – her grandchildren. She took tremendous pride in crocheting afghans for each one of them she rejoiced with them in each of their milestones and successes and was always there for them during tough times. Survivors include her beloved husband, Gene Waddell, her loving children, Cheryl Waddell Rockwell and husband Mark, son Clint Waddell and wife Keri, and daughter Carol Waddell Rivas; 6 grandchildren Cristin Waddell Coulter and husband Turney, Kendra Waddell Lange and husband Taylor, Clayton Waddell, Jason Rockwell, Jordan Rivas and Reagan Rivas; 5 great-grandchildren Christopher Rockwell, Tucker Lange, Tanner Lange, Hallee Coulter and Harper Coulter. Survivors also include a sister, Barbara McKee and husband Bob as well as aunts, uncles, nieces and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents C.W. and Verla Mae McBride and brother, Roy McBride.
