Edna Marie Moore, 74, of Lenorah, died on Friday, February 6, 2004, in a Lubbock hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, February 9, 2004 at the First Baptist Church of Stanton with Rev. Leandro Gonzales, Jr. pastor of Lenorah Baptist Church officiating and Rev. David Harp of First Baptist Church of Stanton assisting. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery Stanton. She was born on April 1, 1929, in Taylor County, Texas and married Dave Moore on October 16, 1965 in Plainview, Texas. He preceded her in death in 1982. Edna worked as Post Master relief at the U. S. Post Office in Lenorah for 10 years and was a retired registered nurse. She enjoyed playing the piano and enjoyed playing for the churches that invited her to play. She loved her family and was loved by anybody that met her. She also enjoyed crocheting. She was a member of the Lenorah Baptist Church, an active member of the Senior Adult Group at church and was also the pianist at the Lenorah Baptist Church. Survivors include two sons, Barney Peterson and his wife Sue of Omaha, Nebraska and Kenneth Peterson of Lenorah; one daughter, Ruth Faulks and her husband of Sherman; two brothers, Bobby Joe McClain of Elijay, Georgia and Charles McClain of Lorena; six grandchildren, Melissa, James, Jr., Toby, and Cassandra Peterson and Micheal Shane and Beckie Michelle Faulks eight great grandchildren and two step daughters. She was also preceded in death by her parents and one brother. The family suggests memorials made to a favorite church or charity of choice. The family will receive friends Sunday, February 8, 2004 from 2 P.M to 3 P.M. at the funeral home. Arrangements under the direction of Gilbreath Funeral Home of Stanton.
