EDITH CORINE ROSS, long time resident of Midland Texas passed away Sunday, April 26, 2015 surrounded by her family. She is in the loving arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ. Family visitation will be Wednesday April 29, at Nalley-Pickle & Welch from 6:00-8:00pm. Services are Thursday April 30, 2015 at Crestview Baptist Church at 11:00am; officiated by Dr. John Gerlach. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.Daughter of Richard and Gracie Alexander born October 31, 1931, in Haskell County, Texas. She graduated from Weinert High School in 1950. Married John Henry Almand and moved to Midland to start their family with their two sons Delwyn and Darwin. She supported her husband in an electric company and later on her sons and grandson continued to have their own successful electric companies.Edith began working in 1969 in banking and retired from Texas American Bank formerly Commercial Bank in 1990 as a Vice President . Also in 1990, she married the love of her life, Larry S. Ross. They loved to travel, golf, dance, and fish. They were active in Shriners and VFW. Both loved each other and their \beloved\ Cowboys! They had 10 wonderful years together. She always said those were her \best years\ of her life!Edith had so many friends that were there for her in her last days, always there to help brighten her day or to help out with the family. Edith's family will continue to love and care for each one of these \aunties\, Pauline Slade, Peggy Webernick, Jo Holub, Zelda Henley, Exa Kaye Luman, and her care giver Grace Cobos.She is preceded in death by her parents, a son, Delwyn Almand, a granddaughter, Jerrellyn De'an, husband, Larry S. Ross, brothers, Richard W. Alexander Jr. and Winfred Alexander, sisters, Sue Nell Harmon and Francis Louise Babbitt; John Henry Almand and Leonard Schafer.Edith is survived by son Darwin Almand and wife Teresa of Midland, daughter-in-law Debbie Almand of Stanton. She also is survived by her nephew, Chan Alexander (who was like a son) and his wife Gloria, of Texarkana, TX. Grandchildren Angie Almand, Ryan and Lynne Almand, Darla and Michael Bird, Alisha and Carlo Ontiveros, great-grand children, Cole and Edie (Edith's namesake), Alijah and Isaiah.Survived by stepchildren: Alan and Vicky Ross of Yerington, NV, children, Kiara and Kristopher; Dave & Debbie Ross of Billings, MT, children, Kristen and Stacey; Janet and Marvin Boggs of Butte, MT, children Ross and Mikayla; Lori and Bob Jardine of Butte, MT, daughter Danelle; Linda and Henry Shipes of Melissa, TX, children Austin, Brandon, and Connor.Pallbearers are Ryan Almand, Michael Bird, Carlo Ontiveros, Henry Shipes, Jeremy Sanders, Austin Shipes. The family suggests memorials be made to Hospice, Suez Shrine, or the local American Legion.Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland.
