Earnest Key, 88, of Big Spring, died on Wednesday, May 15, 2002, at his residence. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM Friday, May 17, 2002, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Dr. Claude Craven, retired Baptist minister, officiating. Entombment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park Mausoleum. He was born on April 15, 1914 in Boerne, Texas and married Dorothy Evelyn Conn on August 28, 1935 in Brady, Texas. Mr. Key came to Big Spring in 1954 and worked as a heavy equipment operator for W. D. Caldwell and Price Construction until retiring in 1979. He loved working in the yard and gardening, but most of all he loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a Baptist. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Key of Big Spring; a son and daughter-in-law, Connie and Lou Key of Big Spring; a daughter, Frankie Hazelwood of Big Spring; four grandchildren, Randy Key of San Angelo, Mark Hazelwood of Big Spring, Wally Hazelwood of Stanton and Dottie Shaw of Greenwood; four great grandchidren, Robin Key of San Angelo, Jason Key of Coahoma, Jonathan Shaw of Greenwood and Tiffany Shaw of Austin and a brother, Tommy Key of San Angelo. Pallbearers will be Wally Hazelwood, Mark Hazelwood, Jason Key, John Conn, Jay Shaw, John Word. The family suggests memorials to: The American Cancer Society, % Lucy Bonner, P.O.
