Duke Wayne Roush, age 66, of Midland, TX passed away on Sunday October 2nd. Memorial services will be on October 6, 2022 at 11:00 AM at First Presbyterian Church followed by a reception.
Duke was born on October 27th, 1955 in Amarillo, TX to Don and Phyllis Roush. He grew up in Amarillo and graduated from Tascosa High School. He attended and graduated college at the University of Texas followed by a successful, 40+ year career as a landman in the oil and gas industry. Duke was described as kind, witty, compassionate, and selfless. He stayed actively involved in his community and served as a deacon at his church. He enjoyed spending time with his family, playing golf (especially with the “Red Shirt Group”), traveling, fly fishing, trying new hobbies, and living life to the fullest. His spirit of generosity was felt by all of the people that had the privilege of knowing him, and his presence will be felt by those left behind.
Duke is survived by his wife Cheryl of 36 years, his two daughters Ashley Roush of Midland, TX and Lindsey Roush and her husband Arturo Rodriguez of Lubbock, TX, his mother Phyllis Roush of Midland, TX, and his sister Dona Roush of Guthrie, OK.
Duke is preceded in death by his grandparents Elmo and Margaret Duke, Marie and Lawrence Roush, and his father Don Roush.
The family would like to express their gratitude towards the staff of Two Hearts Home Health Care, especially Marie, Kindred Hospice, and his friends for their unwavering support.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Lone Star Animal Sanctuary and American Cancer Society.
