Edna "Doylene" Davidson Baugh who was better known to her many friends as "Granny", died on Monday November 30, 2009, in Baytown, Texas after a brief illness. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Doylene's life was a life well lived, as testified by the wide expanse of loving family and friends who mourn her loss. Doylene was born on March 15, 1918 to Otis and Edna Davidson in Big Spring, Texas. The family moved to the Courtney area and she graduated from Courtney High School. She married the love of her life, Eugene Baugh on March 21, 1936. They had two children, daughter Martha and son Jerry at which time the family moved from the farm into town at Stanton, Texas. She worked in the school cafeteria early on to be near the children. She also worked at the Stanton Drug Store off and on through the years as well as earning a cosmetology license, at which time she went to work at Lila's Beauty Parlor and Dress Shop in Stanton. After retiring she volunteered when needed at the First Baptist Church of Stanton (where she was a long time member) working in the nursery where she became Granny to all, as well as keeping children in her home and became their other "Granny" as well. She lived in Stanton until the point she could no longer drive and went to live in Midland with her son and his family for a period of time, and then spent her last years in Baytown with her daughter.Doylene was preceded in death by her mother and father, her loving husband Eugene, son Jerry Baugh, and grandsons Douglas Lambert and Randy Rhodes. She is survived by her daughter Martha Horelica of Baytown, TX, daughter-in-law Joyce Baugh of Midland, TX, grandchildren, Debbie St.Clair and husband Mark,Becky Dickenson, Steven Baugh and wife Misti, Chris Baugh and wife Mandy. She is also survived by great-grandchildren Cassy Dickenson Peacock and husband Preston, Amber Dickenson Stoker and husband Slade, Stephen St. Clair, Alan Baugh, Alexis, Tyler, & Dawson Baugh as well as great-great grandchildren, Ethan, Preslea, and Ayden Peacock, and Addison and Aryn Stoker. The family was lucky to have recorded several 4 and 5 generation memories in testament to a life full of love of family.Visitation will occur at Gilbreath Funeral Home in Stanton, Texas on Thursday, December 3 from 6pm to 8pm. A funeral service will be held at the First Baptist Church of Stanton at 10 am Friday, December 5, 2009 with Pastor David Harp officiating with interment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Stanton.,
