Dorothy "Dottie" Lee Humphrey Whitehead joined the Church Triumphant on Tuesday, August 28, 2012. She was born on May 23, 1938 in Ithaca, NY to Robert W. and Juanita Ethelyn Brush Humphrey. Dottie was a descendent of the family of Thomas and Richard Brush of Huntington, NY (1653). She graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in Dallas, and attended Southern Methodist University and Midland College.Dottie married John A. Whitehead, Jr. March 19, 1960 in Dallas, TX. They moved to Midland in 1981. Dottie was a charter member of Trinity Presbyterian Church where she served as a Deacon as well as in many other capacities. For 35 years, she worked as a legal secretary, and for 14 years, she worked in telecommunications. She retired in 2007. She had come out of retirement wad was working at West Texas Geological Society at the time of her illness. She was an avid reader, loved to travel, and dearly loved her cat Stormie.She is preceded in death by her parents, stepmothers, Mary-Margaret Humphrey and Ione Humphrey, and her husband.Survivors include her brother, Nelson R. Humphrey and wife Hilde of Dallas, TX; daughters, Sandra Chisum and husband Michael of Wichita Falls, TX, Theresa Bastron and husband Mark of Pahrump, NV, and Mary-Margaret Whitehead of Midland; son, Andrew Whitehead and wife Jennifer of Casper, WY; six grandchildren, David Chisum, Philip Chisum and wife Sarah, Loresa Chisum, Savana Whitehead, Kaydence Whitehead, and Olivia Whitehead; sister-in-law, Pam Caudill, and 3 step-sisters, Ramey Warren, Lynne-Ann Jones, and Leslie Warren.The memorial service will be held at Trinity Presbyterian Church on Sunday, September 2, 2012 at 4:00 pm with Rev.
