Dorothy Elaine Baker was born June 23, 1955 to Harry and Karola Jones in Lubbock, Texas. Elaine died at the age of 53 in Midland, Texas on December 30, 2008. Elaine is survived by her husband, Albert H. Baker of Stanton and three sons, Jay Baker and his fiancée Cassie Stroud of Lubbock, Clayton Baker and his wife Marisa of Azle, Texas, David Baker and his wife Magan of Stanton, Texas and three grandchildren, Kaeden Baker and Jenna Baker of Stanton, Texas and Angelo Holly of Lubbock, Texas. Elaine is also survived by two sisters, Valerie Hlavaty and her husband Doug of Lubbock, Texas, Loucille Battig and her husband Doug of Sacramento, California, and a brother Roy Jones and his wife Annette of Lubbock, Texas and numerous nieces and nephews. Elaine graduated from Coronado High School in Lubbock and received her Bachelor's Degree from Texas Tech University. Elaine married Albert H. Baker on November 18, 1978 in Lubbock, Texas and moved to Stanton, Texas in 1980 with her husband to begin their family. She worked as a bookkeeper and tax accountant in Midland and in Stanton for 16 years. In 1996, Elaine started helping with the development of the computer programs at Stanton ISD and joined the Stanton High School staff as the computer science and BCIS teacher. Elaine will be remembered most by her strong will and desire to please everyone around her. She would not let her illness stop her from making sure her family was taken care of and happy. Funeral services for Elaine will be Thursday, January 1, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. at the First Baptist Church in Stanton, Texas (200 West Broadway). Interment services will follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 31, 2008 from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Gilbreath Funeral Home, 209 North St. Charles in Stanton, Texas.
