Doris Wanee Wood, 67, of Big Spring, died on Friday, June 28, 2002, in a local hospital. Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Monday, July 1, 2002, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel with Rev. Don Snipes, pastor of Baptist Temple Church, officiating and her brother-in-law, Rev. Willie Earl Smith, assisting. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park. She was born on May 11, 1935 in Noodle, Texas and married Daryl Wood on October 6, 1952 in Lovington, New Mexico. Mrs. Wood came to Big Spring in 1957 from Snyder and was a homemaker. She was a member of Baptist Temple Church and sang in the choir. Survivors include her husband, Daryl Wood of Big Spring; one daughter, Tawa Wood of Big Spring; one son, David Wood of Big Spring; three sisters, Billie Tackett of Abilene, Ruby Smith of San Antonio and Paula Jones of Hermleigh; two grandchildren, Brent Wood and Casie Wood both of Big Spring. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Jetta Caldwell. Pallbearers will be Doug Randel, Harvey Harris, Ricky Scott, Dennis Jones, Harvey Hocker and Craig Caudill.
