Doris Florene Lewis Gordon, 97, of Midland, formerly of Big Spring, peacefully left us on Saturday, November 24, 2018. Graveside services will be 2:00 PM, Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at Trinity Memorial Park with Clark Tatum officiating.Flo, as she was known to all, was born to Erda and Lillie Lewis on May 8, 1921. She graduated from Forsan High School at age 16 and cosmetology school at age 18 in Dallas, Texas. That's where she met the love of her life, Paul W. Gordon, and they were married on September 5, 1939. They moved back to Forsan where she opened her beauty shop while Paul went into the Army. They lived in several places where she always worked as a beautician. They shared 42 loving years together until his death in 1982. They raised two very loved children, Paula and Steve. Flo lived many years in the house they built on Moss Creek Road. She loved her family and enjoyed taking care of everyone she knew. She continued her passion for helping her customers feel beautiful until she was 85. At 90 she moved to Manor Park in Midland and resided there for seven years. She was loved and taken wonderful care of by the people there.She is survived by her children, Paula Wash and husband, Dan of Waco, and Steve Gordon and wife, Shauna of Kermit; seven grandchildren, Terri Wash, Jonathan Wash and wife, Jessica, Merryl Jones and husband, Will, Leandra Humphreys and husband, Lee, Steve Gordon and wife, Sara, Jennifer Carpenter and husband, Craig, and Lucas Gordon; ten great-grandchildren, McKenzie, Evan, Grant, Reid, Clark, Caitlyn, Connor, Thomas, Tiffany and Stephanie.Flo was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Arthur Leon Lewis.Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great-grandsons: Jonathan, Steve, Lucas, Will, Craig, Evan, Grant, Connor, Reid, Clark and Thomas,Flo touched so many people and left a loving memory to all. Her kindness and compassion for others was a constant and a foundation for her family. Flo (Mama Flo) was loved and cherished by all and will be missed every day.Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory.
