Doris Goodman Williams was born on March 27, 1932 in Big Spring, TX to Oliver A. Goodman and Ethel V. Jones and went to her eternal home on January 11, 2021. She was born on a farm outside of Big Spring in the community of Knott where she went to school. She left Big Spring in 1951 to attend Bible Baptist Seminary of Ft. Worth. She then moved to Midland in 1953 and worked for Southwestern Bell with her sister Wanda. She then went to work for Pioneer Natural Gas in 1961. She then moved to Las Cruces, NM in 1962 where she was a dispatcher for the Las Cruces PD. She moved back to Midland in 1965 and went back to work for Pioneer Natural Gas as a switchboard operator where she met her soon to be husband Howard Williams in 1966. They got married in 1973 and she went to work for Sun Oil Co. in 1977 and worked for them till she retired in 1987. She attended Kelview Heights Baptist Church where she was a choir secretary for years and loved to sing praises to the Lord.
She is survived by her husband Howard Williams of Midland, a son, Kevin Williams of Midland, a sister Sue McDaniel of Ruidoso, NM and numerous nieces and nephews. She will be laid to rest at Resthaven Memorial Park in Midland.
