Donny Joe Jones, 73, of Crowell, Texas, passed away Sunday, February 5, 2023. He will lie in state from 9am until 9pm Friday, February 10, 2023 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. Graveside Services will be held at 2:30pm, Saturday, February 11, 2023 at Iatan Cemetery in Westbrook.
He was born October 22, 1949 in Big Spring, Texas to parents Lewis Wilford Jones and Wanda June (Terrell) Jones. He married Paula Sue Brothers on November 6, 1980 in Lovington, New Mexico, who preceded him in death on June 6, 2021.
Donny spent his entire career in energy production, working in the oilfields as a lease operator for Texas Pacific, Sun Oil, Kerr McGee, and Chevron among others. He loved all things related to cars and trucks, and was fond of recounting the memories from his life, and those stories never failed to mention the vehicles driven. He worked hard, but he loved his family even harder.
Survivors include his daughter, Amanda Franklin and husband John; sons, Robert Jones, Jake Jones and wife Alisha; grandchildren: Abigail Sisk, Emilee Wilde, Hannah Jones, Chase Jones, Sawyer Jones, Ivy Jones, and Ila Jones.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Paula Jones; a son Joe Don Jones; and a grandson JoeDon (Little Trooper).
