Donnie Rae Kennedy, 82, of Stanton, died Tuesday, June 7, 2016, in a Midland hospital. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Friday, June 10, 2016 at the First Baptist Church in Stanton. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Thursday, June 9, 2016 at the funeral home.She was born June 27, 1933 in Stanton where she lived most of her life. She graduated from Stanton High School in 1951. Donnie was the Tax Assessor Collector for Martin County for a number of years. She enjoyed dancing and cooking. Her family was very important to her and she will be greatly missed.Survivors include three sons, Tony Kennedy and wife, Deborah of Stanton, Rick Kennedy Sr. of Kermit, and Jerry Kennedy and wife, Debbie of Odessa; eight grandchildren, Rick Kennedy, Jr., Cindy Robertson, Nick Kennedy, Jennifer Kennedy, Julie Kay Bigelow, Shawn Franklin, Dillon Kennedy, and Kaden Kennedy; ten great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis E. Kennedy; her parents, Ben and Edna Keele; three brothers, Ben Keele, Jr., Garland Keele and Roy Keele.The family suggests donations to a charity of choice.Arrangements are under the direction of Gilbreath Funeral Home Stanton, Texas 79782.
