Donna Kay Rushing, 76, of Midland, Texas, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 14, 2025. She was born to Donaldeen Wright “DD” on August 9, 1948, in Duncan, Oklahoma.
On November 29, 1969, Donna married the love of her life, Peter Rushing. Together, they raised two sons, Christopher and Dean Rushing. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, known for her fierce love for her family. Donna was blessed with three grandchildren—Kayla Hord, Kyle Rushing, and Tyler Rushing—and three great-granddaughters, Kloe, Addilynn, and Abigail Hord.
Donna lived her life as a true example of Christian faith. She was selfless, compassionate, and always put others before herself. Her loyalty, kindness, and generosity touched the lives of many. Whether cheering on her beloved Dallas Cowboys or caring for those around her, Donna’s heart remained anchored in her deep love for the Lord. Her presence leaves a profound void, but her loved ones find comfort in knowing she is now at peace, walking the streets of gold, breathing deeply, pain-free, and reunited with those who went before her.
She is survived by her husband, Peter Rushing; sons Christopher Rushing and Dean Rushing; daughters-in-law Debra Rushing and Brittany Rushing; grandchildren Kayla Hord, and husband JJ Hord, Kyle Rushing, and Tyler Rushing; great-grandchildren Kloe and Abigail Hord; sisters MaryAnn Safford and Jonnie Carrell; brother-in-law Don Carrell; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who meant so much to her. Donna made sure everyone in her life knew they were loved.
