During Spring Break of her senior year at Shawnee, OK High School (1950), she went on a blind date and met the love of her life. Clarence O. Hill was a junior at Oklahoma State University (Oklahoma A&M College). They dated through the summer and were married on September 16, 1950 because Clarence wasn’t “going back to Stillwater without her.” After his graduation, they settled their first years of marriage in Shawnee where their first two daughters were born. After Clarence started his career in the drilling mud industry, they were transferred to Chickasha, OK where their third daughter was born. They then moved to Perryton, TX where their fourth daughter was born. The next move was to Casper, WY where their fifth daughter was born. There was a transfer to Houston, TX and the final one in 1972 to Midland, TX. After Clarence’s sudden death in August 1979, two daughters still in high school, and being a homemaker for 29 years, Donna decided to take classes at Midland College to prepare her for the working world. These classes led to a job at Midland College. Before retiring in June 2007, she had spent most of her career with Midland college in the Continuing Education department and also had the joy of all five of her grandchildren attending Kids College every summer. Donna enjoyed quilting, reading, and knitting the most amazing dish cloths.Donna is survived by her daughters: Gail Cornejo of Kenosha, WI, Gwyn Hill of Midland, Gina Ponder (Roy) of San Angelo, TX, and Gerri Hill of Midland, TX, her brothers L.
