Donna Lee Martin passed away on May 16, 2013. She was born on a farm outside of Holdredge, Nebraska on July 19, 1930, the youngest of six children, to Edna Williams and Ross Taylor.She is preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Devona Tippin, Ramona Merchant, Venita Engle, and Arawanna Moss; and a brother, Dale Taylor.Survived by her loving husband of sixty-two years, Mark S. Martin, Jr.; and three children, Kristy McCarter and husband Larry of Charlotte, North Carolina, Mark S. Martin, III and wife Brenda of Midland, Texas, and Randy Martin and wife Donna of Wichita Falls, Texas; eight grandchildren, Taylor Johnson and husband Chris, Matt McCarter, Craig McCarter, Ashley Bergen and husband Brandon, Katy Martin, and Kelsey, Molly, and Garrett Martin; four great grandchildren, Sebashtian, Piper, Campbell, and Brady Johnson.Pallbearers will be Chris Johnson, Matt McCarter, Craig McCarter, Brandon Bergen, and Garrett Martin.Family was her greatest love, as she followed her husband through Oklahoma and Texas in the oil business. She worked for Goddard Junior High and then partnered with another teacher to open a needlepoint shop, The Stitching Post. Needlework continued to be a lifelong interest of hers that she shared with her many friends at the shop.Services will be Monday, May 20, 2013, at 2:00 P.M. in the sanctuary of First United Methodist Church, with private graveside burial preceding, and reception to follow.Visitation will be Sunday evening, May 19, 2013, from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home.Memorials may be directed to the Childrens Service League of Midland; First United Methodist Church; or the American Cancer Society.Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland.
