Donella Hardaway Rodgers

Donella Hardaway Rodgers, 81, of Eunice, New Mexico, passed away in Ector County, Texas, during surgery on January 26, 2013.The funeral service will be held Saturday, February 2 at 11:30 a.m., in the chapel of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home in Midland. Officiating will be Reverend Steve Brannan of the Church of Christ of Eunice, New Mexico, and Pastor Steve Schorr of First Presbyterian Church of Midland, Texas. A reception will follow.Donella was born in Weinert, Haskell County, Texas on October 15, 1931 to James H. and Maymie Hardaway. Donella grew up in Monahans and Pecos, Texas. She graduated from Pecos High School and continued to business college in Abilene.Donella married AV Rodgers on June 18, 1977 and they were married 32 years.Donella worked as a homemaker. She enjoyed music and reading. She was also actively involved in her Church and the Senior Citizen Center in Eunice.Donella was a happy, giving person with a magnetic personality. She blessed everyone she met with friendship and a beautiful, heartfelt smile. She touched the lives of her family and friends and she will be truly missed.Donella is survived by siblings, Shirley and Bobby G. Hardaway, Donny J. Hardaway, Thomas D. Hardaway and Judith H. Devenport; her sister-in-law Billie Fay Hardaway; her grandchildren, Kevin and Melissa Hardaway, Keith and Tia Hardaway, and Kris Hardaway; great grandchildren, Carson, Connor, Kelsie and Kenzie and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her two children, Theresa and Joey Nash, her father and mother, James H. and Maymie Hardaway, her husband, AV Rodgers, three brothers, J. Leroy Hardaway, Jack W. Hardaway and Bill D. Hardaway, and one sister, Lois H.
