Donald Lee went to be with his Lord and Savior August 22, 2017.Donald Lee was born April 21, 1936 in Midland, Texas to Gertrude and Roy Lee. He graduated from Midland High School in 1954 where he was active in Future Farmers of America. Upon graduation he worked for Texas-New Mexico Pipeline, and later for Diamond Oilwell Services.He married Alta Lois Rodgers in 1955 and to this union was born Craig Lee of La Porte, Texas and Carla Lee McDaniel of Midland, Texas.He accepted Jesus as his personal Savior at the age of 19 and joined Cotton Flat Baptist Church.In 1956 he began working for Commercial Bank & Trust and remained there for the next 30 years. He worked in many capacities from mail boy working his way up to Executive Vice President of Operations. He retired from the banking business in 1986.In September 1978, he married Margie Green of Midland. They discovered a love of traveling and traveled across the US at every opportunity. Donald’s favorite places to visit were the East Coast and New England areas.In 1996 Don joined Margie in working with McComas & Associates of El Paso, training schools in specialized reading software for young students. The highlight of every year was going to various cities such as Boston, Tucson, and Providence, RI, for software conferences.In 2012 Donald and Margie moved to Manor Park.He was a member of First Baptist Church and the John Sunday School Class. He was a former member of the West Side Optimist Club, Bank Administration Institute of Midland, Lee Band Boosters Club, Depression Glass Club and other professional and civic groups.Donald is survived by his wife, Margie, his son, Craig Lee of La Porte, TX; his daughter, Carla McDaniel and her husband Scott of Midland; step-daughter, Dr. Vicki Green Brockman and her husband, Brian of Cleburne; step-son, Maj. General Tim Green and his wife, Susan of Bolling AFB, District of Columbia; grandchildren, Jeff McDaniel of Midland; Dr. Paige Bartlett of Lubbock; Jake Lee of La Porte, TX; Tatum MacNaughton of Crosby, TX; Kaitlin Belcher of Greenwood; Kristen Brockman of Hilton Head, SC; Andrew Green of Orlando, FL; and Rachel Green, currently attending college in West Palm Beach, FL. He is also survived by 6 great grandchildren and by his sister and brother-in-law, Neva Jo and Bill Brown of San Angelo, Texas and three nieces and two nephews.Memorial services will be held on Friday, August 25, 2017 at 1:00 pm at Parks Faudree Family Chapel at Manor Park with Rev. David Johnson of First Baptist Church, assisted by Chaplain Bill Billett of Manor Park officiating.In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to the Village at Manor Park at 2208 N.
