Donald Clark Green, 92, of Big Spring, passed away Saturday, May 22, 2021 in the local Veteran nursing home. My friendship and admiration for Don Green goes back 55 years, or so. He was my math teacher for a couple of classes in high school. He later worked with my Dad in administration at Big Spring Independent School District.
He was an inspiration to me and every other student that he taught. He was quiet, thoughtful, helpful and brilliant. And he possessed a wry sense of humor that always brought a smile to the faces of those of us that really knew him.
In the school district administration he worked closely with my Dad for years. It was not an exaggeration to say that my father loved and respected him and always and admired his ability and commitment.
My heartfelt condolences go out to his family. He was a special teacher and a special person.

Don taught me Plane Geometry in my BSHS junior year and he was among my very best teachers. He was a giant influence on my getting a B.S. in Math and for my 27 year career (with IBM) working on the Gemini, Apollo, Skylab, and Space Shuttle projects. Thank you, Mister Green, and may you rest in a blessed peace.
