Don Oran Bomar, of Midland, Texas, entered the gates of his eternal home on December 9, 2007. Don was born March 23, 1934 in Silverton, Texas, the son of D. Oran and Carrie Tice Bomar. The family moved to Lubbock in 1944, where Don attended junior high and Lubbock High School. He graduated from Texas Tech University in 1955 with a Bachelor of Science degree in petroleum geology. In 1957 he married and moved to Midland where he began a career as a petroleum landman and lease broker. Don and his first wife were divorced in 1979, and in 1986 he married his loving wife, Martha Ann Pressly.Don was a former member of the Permian Basin Landman's Association and the Texas and Southwestern Livestock Producer's Association. In recent years, Don has been active in Alpha Omega, Serenity Group, Community Bible Study, Hi-Sky Emmaus and the Daniel Department of First Baptist Church of Midland.Don was preceded in death by both parents and two sisters, Patricia Colston and Faye Tice Billingsley. He is survived by his wife, Martha of Midland; his daughter, Cindy Hellinger and husband, Tom, and three grandchildren, Aleisha, Sarah and Caleb of Freeland, Washington; his son, Dobie Oran Bomar and wife, Mary, and four sons, Deven and Dillon Bomar, and Wesley and Taylor DuBois of Midland; his daughter, Annette Pressly Wilie and husband, Brett, and granddaughter, Hannah of Waxahachie, TX; his son, James Pressly, Jr. and wife, Carla, and two grandsons, C.J. and Harrison of Flower Mound; three nephews, one niece and numerous cousins.A burial service will be held at Resthaven Memorial Park at 11:00 am, on Wednesday, December 12, 2007. A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, December 12, 2007, with Pastor Gary Dyer, officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Tuesday, December 11, 2007 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home in Midland. Pallbearers will be Marc Howard, Roger Schelling, George Harris, Warren Bartley, Bob Hilton and Jim Lott. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of the Daniel Department, Herb Wales, Calvin Hancock, Ken Arnold and Roger Clifton.Don met our Savior, Jesus Christ, in February 1971. His faith and devotion to our Lord touched many lives. He was a loving and devoted husband and father, grandfather and friend.
