Dolores “Granny Lola” Gomez, 92, of Big Spring, died Monday, May 7, 2018 at her residence. Vigil services will be 7:00 PM Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Thursday, May 10, 2018 at the Holy Trinity Catholic Parish. Interment will follow at Mt. Olive Memorial Park.She was born March 16, 1926 in New Mexico and came to Big Spring as infant. She married David Gomez in 1948 and he preceded her in death in September 1, 2000.She owned and operated Gomez Hall for several years before opening Carlos’ Restaurant with her husband, which they operated for over 35 years. She loved cooking for and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed music and dancing, crossword puzzles and word search puzzles, and reading. Granny Lola loved laughter and above all, life.She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Parish.Survivors include her son David Gomez, Jr. and wife, Anna of Big Spring; two grandchildren, Michael Gomez of Big Spring and Ayanna Gomez of Lubbock; six great-grandchildren, Sabrina Gomez of Kentucky, Michael Gomez, Jr. of Lubbock, Andrew Bailon, Gabriel Gomez, Nicholas Gomez and Olivia Gomez all of Big Spring.She was also preceded in death by her mother, Basilia Martinez; 14 brothers; and a niece, Ruth Cordova.Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home and Crematory.
