Dochia Laree Hardin

Dochia Laree Hardin, resident of Midland, Texas, died on Thursday, February 28, 2012 at the age of 82 with her family by her side. Dochia was born September 1, 1930 to Birdie Nadine Bledsoe and Horace William Redd in Cunningham, Texas. Dochia lovingly raised three children and was an active member of Crestview Baptist Church, serving for many years as a teacher.She is survived by daughters Teresha L. Hardin of Midland, TX; Doylene H. Land and husband Dale of Midland, TX; son Boyce D. Hardin and wife Kim of Athens, Texas. Dochia is also survived by two immeasurably loved granddaughters: Kathryn L. Hardin and Isabel R. Hardin. Dochia is also survived by her three sisters: Gwyn Randall of Kyle, Texas; Norma Greene and husband Earle of Breckenridge, Texas; and Roma Johle and husband Donald of Burlington, Washington.Dochia's life was marked by an unwavering faith in Christ and a compassion that extended to family and friends and those in need. She quietly opened her arms and home more than once to those needing food and shelter. She was not one to ever complain, but simply did the work that needed to be done. Dochia worked for many years for the former First National Bank of Midland prior to her retirement in 1992. She was also known as an excellent baker – her cakes and pies were as delicious as they were beautiful. Dochia was strong of faith, beautiful in character and loved by all who knew her.Funeral services will be held at 4:00 pm, Saturday, March 2, 2013 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Chapel in Midland.
