Dobie Oran Bomar, of Midland Texas, rode into the sunset of his eternal home on Monday, November 9, 2015. The family will be accepting guests from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Thursday, November 12, 2015 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, November 13, 2015 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Chapel.Dobie was born June 8, 1960 in Midland, Texas, the son of Don Oran and Laruth Bomar. He attended Lee High School and was on the drumline all four years. He also participated in numerous dirt bike competitions in his youth. Dobie was a professional drummer and wood carving artist. He designed and chain sawed cut bears from pine wood; named Dobie Bears. He grew up in Midland with his sister Cindy and some of his favorite memories were spent hiking and exploring in Northern New Mexico. He loved spending time with his boys and raised both of them to be good men. He loved to laugh and make others laugh.Dobie was preceded in death by both parents.His sons, Deven and Dillon Bomar; sister, Cindy Bomar Hellinger; grandchildren; nieces; nephews; and numerous friends survive him.The family suggests memorials to be made to American Cancer Society for prostate cancer research.,
