Dixie Denise “DeeDee” Greenlee Walton

Dixie Denise (Dee Dee) Greenlee Walton peacefully passed away Saturday, November 11, 2023, at Midland Memorial Hospital.

Dee Dee was born June 27, 1957 in Norman, Oklahoma to C. Wayne and Dixie Greenlee. She and her parents moved to Midland when she was still a baby.

In her teens, Dee Dee moved with her family to Abilene, Texas, for three years before returning to Midland. While in Abilene, she graduated from Copper High School. She worked at Texas Instruments where she met her husband Joe Charles Walton. In 1980, she gave birth to her son Justin Joseph Walton.

Dee Dee worked at various oil companies and was a member of Desk and Derrick. She was also a Master Gardener and a champion for animal rights. She spent her life rescuing animals and supporting Peeps and Creeps of A to Z Veterinarian Clinic.

Dee Dee was preceded in death by her parents, C. Wayne and Dixie Greenlee, both of whom she cared for in their golden years. She is survived by her loving son Justin Walton, her brother Edward Wayne Greenlee, and her sister Rebel Sowell.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the many caregivers that Dee Dee had over the past year and for the loving care they gave her.

The family will be holding a private memorial. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to local animal shelters.
