Diann Louise Dorsey Dow, 76, of Midland, passed away Thursday, September 21, 2017.Diann was a descendant of a pioneer Midland family. She was born May 4, 1941 to Mark and Judy Dorsey, granddaughter of Sarah Dorsey Brown and great-granddaughter of Zachary Taylor and Sara Brown, early settlers of Midland County 1885. Diann attended schools in Midland and Rankin, graduating from Reagan County High School, class of 1959. Upon graduation, she attended Seten School of Nursing in Austin and subsequently San Angelo College. Diann worked as a Secretary for various oil companies and was last employed by Midwest Oil.Diann married Don F. Dow on May 14, 1971. Together they raised their children, Anthony Wade Wilson of Austin; Carolyn Dow Allison and husband Cody; and Bobbi Dow Mullinax, all of Midland.Diann was active in several organizations including St. Ann’s Church Choir and Altar Society, past President of the Permian Basin Landman’s Auxiliary, the Sand and Seed and Gwyn Garden Clubs, and the Midland County Historical Society.Left to cherish her memory are her husband and children; grandchildren, Morgan Pierce Grimes, Cameron Dow Molina, Kimberly Ann Brice, Abby Dell Mullinax, Shawn Patrick Allison and Madison Diann Mullinax; great granddaughter, Copelyn Marie Grimes; in-laws, Dwight and Jana Dow of Austin, Joyce Dow of Seminole; as well as several nieces and nephews.Diann was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Mark Edward Dorsey and her sister Judy Buckingham.There will be a public viewing from 8:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 23, 2017 and 1:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 24, 2017 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home of Midland. A rosary will be held on Sunday, September 24, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Ann’s Catholic Church – Chapel. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, September 25, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Ann’s Catholic Church with burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Anthony Wade Wilson, Cody James Allison, Morgan Pierce Grimes, Cameron Dow Molina, Matthew Buckingham and Shawn Patrick Allison.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to Midland County Historical Society or St. Ann’s Altar Society.Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland.
