Diane Marie Burleson, 83 of Midland, Texas, passed away on Thursday, April 17, 2025.
A visitation will be held 5:00pm-7:00pm, Thursday, April 24, 2025 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory.
Diane was born on September 1, 1941 in Lansing to Paul Husted and Doris Burgan.
Diane and Joey would go to play bingo together sometimes. She never once missed Joey’s baseball games, and she was so loud in the stands they gave her a uniform of her own for any team he played on. Joey got in trouble once at school for hitting a girl who had been hitting him, the principal gave him a whooping and Joey told his momma because she’s the one that told him to stand up for himself. Diane showed up and threatened to spank the principal herself. She would go to Helping Hands and spend time with the kids any chance she got. She and her dear friend Kayla Rawlings went on an adventure to go see George W. Bush when he came to visit Midland. They had a blast pulling each other with their wheel chair and electric scooter and getting to meet all kinds of people. Her favorite food for her birthdays was pizza instead of wanting presents. Diane never met a stranger and would always help someone in need. She would never miss Taco Tuesday at Rosa’s cafe, she would go in there and they would always have her plate ready-made just the way she liked it. Diane saw Kayla’s grandkids fighting over a jar of peanut butter with a spoon once and she thought it was strange but funny so she had started bringing each kid their own small jar of peanut butter with a plastic spoon of their own.
Diane loved helping out at the soup kitchen. She loved going to bingo and the fair any chance she got. She loved learning and helping people. Diane loved collecting many things and would never pass up a good bargain. She would always visit the nursing home and check in on all the patients.
