Dewey Howard, 60, of Big Spring, died on Sunday, December 22, 2002, in a local hospital. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Thursday, December 26, 2002, at the First Assembly of God Church with Rev. R. T. Havener, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park. He was born on September 16, 1942 in Big Spring, Texas and married Dorothy Willis. Dewey graduated from Forsan High Scool. He worked for the Dr. Pepper Company for 17 years and had also worked for Parker & Parsley Gas Plant for 17 years, retiring in 1994. He was married for six years to Marie Conner of San Angelo and lived in San Angelo for four years. They remain close friends and continue to see each other. He was a member of First Assembly of God Church. His hobbies were fishing and all forms of hunting: birds, deer, turkey and elk. He loved the outdoors and being in the fresh air. Dewey enjoyed making things out of wood, such as picture frames and plant stands. He enjoyed going for car rides and going down dirt roads he had never been down before, seeing the beauty of the country. He loved his family and friends. Survivors include his mother, Estelle Howard of Big Spring; two sons, Joel Brent Howard of Big Spring and Carey Brian Howard of Tucson, Arizona; one brother, Ronald Howard of Big Spring; three grandchildren; one nephew, Vance Howard of Huntsville; two nieces, La Donna Kibler of Madisonville and Rachel Glick of Athens; his close friend and former wife, Marie Conner of San Angelo; and his extended family, Joy Cowen and sons, Tim, Robert and Gene Cowen all of San Angelo.
