DeWayne Vincent Freshour of Midland, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, June 10, 2026.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home Chapel in Midland, Texas.
DeWayne was born on October 2, 1937, on the family farm in Bucklin, Kansas. Growing up on a small farm, he learned the value of hard work early in life—something that remained with him throughout his years. His career was diverse and included pharmaceutical sales, home remodeling, and orthopedic medical device sales. His passion for remodeling began in his youth when he helped his parents completely renovate a two-story home in Greensburg, Kansas.
DeWayne had a deep love for his grandchildren. He especially enjoyed traveling to Austin, Texas, and Denver, Colorado, to visit them. He took great joy in attending their sporting events, attending performances, playing in the pool, and teaching them life skills such as riding a bike. Family gatherings, particularly Thanksgiving, were a highlight, where his fried turkeys became a beloved tradition.
DeWayne is survived by his two daughters, Debbie Morgan and Diane Freshour-Leede, daughters of the former wife, the late Phyllis Downes Freshour; his sons-in-law, Wayne Morgan and John Leede; five grandchildren—Michael Morgan (wife Mikaela and their soon-to-arrive baby Morgan), Michelle Hockett (husband Samuel and son Theodore), Nicole Morgan, David Leede, and Katharine Jaeger (husband Jackson).
He demonstrated profound care to his late wife Cindy and his mother Dorothy.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Cindy Freshour; his parents, Don and Dorothy Freshour; his sister, Norma Woolery and his granddaughter Gabrielle Leede.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Stonegate Fellowship Church in Midland, Texas.
Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland. Online condolences may be made at www.npwelch.com.
