Deloris "Poppy" Pieper, 71, of Midland, and formerly of Odessa, passed away on Tuesday, September 14, 2004, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, September 17, 2004 at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Chapel in Midland with Reverend Jimmy Braswell, officiating. Reverend James Otterness will assist. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park in Midland. The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 16, 2004 from 6-8 PM at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home, 3800 N. Big Spring St.She was born January 21, 1933 in Seminole, Oklahoma to Jake and Jewel (Walton) Harris. She was raised and attended schools in Seminole. Poppy and Travis Pieper were married on March 24, 1979 in Odessa, Texas. She and Travis loved to travel. Poppy was a former Vice-President at First Banker's Trust in Midland for 22 years. She was a member of Midland Gem & Mineral Society and a member of the Midland Community Theatre. She had also volunteered for Meals on Wheels. Poppy was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Odessa. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister: Geneva Woolery, and a brother: Glen Harris.Surviving Poppy is her husband, Travis, of Midland, two sons: Joe Aytia of Midland, and Don and his wife Janet Aytia of Lead, South Dakota, two step-daughters: Pamela and husband Ron Kimbrell, Karen and husband Doug Hildebrand, and a step-son: Paul and his wife Joyce Pieper, all of Odessa, eight step-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren. She is further survived by a sister: Lavisa Gehring of Toledo, OH, numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly, most especially, Debbie, Micah, Kevin, and Skyla, and her close friend, Ann Hathaway. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Hospice of Midland, 911 W.
